Topps Notes - June 2001

TOPPS BASKETBALL ON MTV

MTV recently aired two shows featuring Topps basketball cards. MTV's
"Diary", which documents the daily lives of celebrities, featured Shaquille O'Neal. A segment in the show included comments from Shaq in regards to his relationship with Topps and footage of Shaq participating in Pack Wars at the Topps booth and signing his limited edition Topps Heritage card for children at the 2001 NBA Jam Session. Also, MTV's "Cribs", which revolves around celebrities giving tours of their homes, included a Topps mention. Houston Rocket Guard Steve Francis proudly displayed his favorite card titled "Second-Coming" featuring Gary Payton and himself (00-01 Topps). Francis went on to say that the card was his favorite, because he admired the comparison between him and Payton.

BOWMAN CHROME TO INCLUDE AUTOGRAPHED ROOKIE CARDS OF PUJOLS AND NASH

Topps announces that 2001 Bowman Chrome Baseball will include Autographed Rookie cards of Albert Pujols and Greg "Toe" Nash. This is the first time a Topps Baseball product has featured autograph cards as part of the base set. Bowman Chrome releases July 18.

MORE ROOKIE CARD NEWS

A Greg "Toe" Nash rookie card (#'d to 1500) has been added to the highly anticipated 2001 Topps Reserve Baseball lineup. Nash will also be highlighted in various Topps Reserve autograph programs.

An Albert Pujols Rookie Card has been added to 2001 Topps Stars. The card will also feature two parallels-Gold Parallel (#'d to 499) and Onyx Parellel (#' to 99).
