ROOKIES THRILLED TO SEE FIRST CARD IN AN NFL UNIFORM
(Have you ever seen a rookie's face when they see their first NFL card?)
Topps Football will feature the "Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs" insert for the second consecutive year. The unique insert, which includes 30 subjects, such as first overall pick Michael Vick, Drew Brees and other top rookies for the 2001 season, was created by implementing a state of the art manufacturing process. The 30 rookies were photographed Saturday morning (5/19) at the 2001 NFL rookie shoot in Orlando, FL, the digital photography was brought to a lab, the cards were composed, printed and then cut. Next,
the cards were hand-delivered back to the NFL Rookie Photo Shoot later that day and given to the rookies to be autographed. Each rookie was given an allotment for their own personal use (they actively traded with one another) and Topps secured 50 of each card, which went through Topps well known 3M Authentication process. The cards will be seeded into packs of 2001 Topps Football.
PUJOLS AND SHINJO INTO BOWMAN'S BEST
Topps announces that 2001 Bowman's Best Baseball, which releases 8/15, will include rookie cards of St. Louis Cardinal phenom Albert Pujols and the New York Mets' Tsuyoshi Shinjo. Bowman's Best will feature 50 rookie cards, including 15 exclusives, sequentially numbered to 2,999.
